The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), has inaugurated a committee to audit agreements and MOU on Accelerated Gas Development Projects (AGDPs).
A significant part of the Committee’s mandate includes reviewing concluded high-profile arbitration cases to identify the causes of Nigeria’s exposure in those cases, with a view to making recommendations for avoiding similar situations in the future. This oversight will help align AGDP agreements with the Nigerian Gas Master Plan, advancing domestic gas growth and safeguarding Nigeria’s interests in international contracts and disputes
The committee, which was inaugurated on the 8th of November has Olasupo Shasore, SAN – Senior Partner, ALP NG & Co. as Chair; Mrs. Folashade Alli SAN, C.ARB Partner Folashade Alli & Associates; Tolu Obamuroh White and Case, Muyiwa Balogun Partner Olaniwun Ajayi, Chidi Momah , General Counsel and Company Secretary, NNPCL; Olayemi Anyanechi, Secretary and Legal Adviser of NUPRC; Memuna Shiru, Director, Civil Litigation and Public Law (FMoJ); and Mrs Gladys Odegbaru Director, Solicitors Department (FMoJ), as members.
